The Malé Fish Market is the place to go to buy fresh fish. One of the main attractions of the market is to watch fishermen from the entire country sail right up to the edge of the market and unload the daily catch, usually in the afternoons.
The History
Fishing has long been the life blood of the Maldivian economy. Today it still employs half the Maldivian workforce. The Fish Market has been here for decades and a lot of the fishermen go here to sell their catch.
